For our April 20, 2020 Zoom Webinar, we welcomed Ms. Davetta Thacher, Senior Project Manager, Workforce Development and Training, NYSERDA, and Adele Ferranti of NYSERDA who presented on “New York State-Supported Workforce Development and Training Opportunities”.
This presentation detailed NYSERDA’s $70 million workforce development and training initiatives targeting experienced workers as well as those just entering the clean energy workforce. Workforce development and training activities address energy efficiency, building science, renewable energy and emerging and advanced technologies as well as initiatives to develop career pathways for veterans, disabled workers, dislocated workers and low and moderate-income residents.
Ms. Davetta Thacher is a Senior Project Manager with NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Workforce Development and Training Team, where her focus is on building operation and maintenance, energy storage and building electrification. She has served as a Board Member of the AEE NYC Chapter since the Fall of 2015 and as an officer since January 2018.
