9/23/2011 AEE-LI Chapter Meeting - Fall 2011 Schedule
AEE-LI Chapter welcomes all to our Fall 2011 Meetings, to be held each month on NYIT's Old Westbury Campus in Salten Hall (Building 1 on web site map), Room SC-1 on Monday evenings at 7pm. Scheduled dates and speakers/events are October 3, 2011 (Craig Ennis of EFT Energy Monitoring Software), November 14 (change from original date), Al Avdic on "Getting to Know the Basics of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design" (LEED), and December 5 (John Busch and the book "Steam Coffin" about the first ocean crossing of a steamship). If you are interested in attending, joining our email list or in presenting at a meeting, contact a chapter officer.

The AEE Long Island Chapter web site (www.aee-li.org) has been awarded "Best Chapter Web Site - Domestic" by the parent AEE for 2006.

AEE-LI Chapter Meeting - John L. Busch on "Steam Coffin"
At our Monday, December 5, 2011 meeting at 7 pm, Mr. John L. Busch will give a presentation on his recently published non-fiction book on the first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean by a steamship, entitled “STEAM COFFIN: Captain Moses Rogers and The Steamship Savannah Break the Barrier.” The event will be held in Room SC-1 of Salten Hall at the Old Westbury campus of NYIT. Copies of the book will be available for sale. John L. Busch is an independent historian and chronicler of the first strides of the first generation of "steamboats" in history, including those run in New York waters by Moses Rogers himself. Additional details are on the web site www.steamcoffin.com. AEE-LI Members and non-Members are welcome.
