The Long Island Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers sponsored a tour of the Babylon Resource Recovery Facility on Monday, October 27, 2014.
The Babylon Resource Recovery Facility in West Babylon, NY began commercial operation in April 1989 and serves the Town of Babylon. The Covanta-owned facility processes 750 tons-per-day of solid waste and generates up to 17 megawatts of power that is sold to Long Island Power Authority.
